Intorduction: Under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, the Department of Public Works has been playing a leading role in the official construction world of Bangladesh for almost two hundred years. There are well-organized engineers and technical manpower in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, trained and experienced in the public works department. The public works department is still shining in its self-glory. There are offices of Public Engineer's Executive Engineers and Sub-Divisional Engineers in every district throughout Bangladesh.
